The El Dorado Run 2010’s third national event, held October 4-7, 2010. Sixteen participants and eight Volkswagen Beetles (six Herbies!) participated. A map was lifted from "The Love Bug" and the El Dorado race route matched to existing roads in northern California. Participants met on Tuesday, October 4th at the historic Wawona Hotel in Yosemite National Park, and kicked off festivities with a showing of “The Love Bug” that was also attended by several hotel guests. Special attendee: an original Horace from “The Love Bug” ’97.

Day 1: Yosemite, Giant Redwoods, Chinese Camp, Sutter Creek, Placerville, Grass Valley via US Route 49.
Day 2: Virginia City, Nevada via State Route 50 and south Lake Tahoe.
Day 3: Exploring Virginia City. Short train ride to view remaining ruins from mining operations.
Day 4: San Francisco film locations. Lombard Street, Fisherman’s Wharf, the Mason/O’Farrell parking garage, Francisco St.(hot rod drag race), Marina district, and Golden Gate Bridge.
